Thinking like a physician to explain life's molecules
I am a physician who thinks at the molecular level.
Clinical work taught me that disease begins long before symptoms appear.
To understand that, I turned to chemistry, ions, and water.
Life’s Chemistry Press is where I explore biology from the bottom up.
My clinical questions often led me beyond textbooks.
When biology stopped making sense, chemistry offered clearer explanations.
Making life's molecules easier to understand
I focus on questions that sit between chemistry and life, such as:
– Why biology uses so few molecular building blocks
– How protons and ions move through living systems
– Why water shapes nearly every biological process
Many of these questions still lack simple explanations.
Life is Chemistry
Life is chemistry under constraint.
By looking for patterns across molecules, cells, and tissues, I aim to make complex biology intuitive.
The story behind Life's Chemistry Press
Life’s Chemistry Press grew out of early research on how cells move molecules with precision.
That work shaped how I think about membranes, orientation, and molecular flow.
What is my "Why"?
I have never enjoyed memorization.
I care about understanding.
My work starts with atoms, then water, ions, and finally, larger molecules, like proteins.
Many diseases emerge when molecular signaling at cell membranes goes awry.
My goal is to explain these processes simply, without losing accuracy.
If these questions resonate with you, I’d love to hear from you.
